Skuve are a virtual band, comprising of Mack (Sweden), Davv (UK), BK (USA) and occasional member, Ben (UK). They formed in 2017 after connecting via an online collaboration website and are unusual in the fact that they have never met, only ever communicating by email.

What genre would you describe yourselves as?

D: We don't really have a specific genre, we attempt everything from Ambient to Metal, Rock to Big Band. I think we're probably most comfortable in an indie rock environment though.

Because you all live thousands of miles apart, it must be difficult for you to write songs together?

D: Actually no, it's surprisingly easy. We all "met" via an online music collaboration website and just seemed to click. I tend to come up with some music, then BK writes some lyrics to fit. Finally, Mack works his magic, bringing the song to life with his vocals and adding extra sparkle with additional instrumention.

What made you want to start in music?

M: Me and a classmate listened to his big brothers Purple, Sabbath, Jethro, Zeppelin, Heep albums and and we wanted to play like them so we started a band and played covers of these great idols, this started in 4th grade and sounded like shit, but it was fun!

B: Music moved me in my heart and soul from the very first time I heard it.

D: As an angsty teen, I wanted to write hard-hitting music that touches the soul. That never happened!

If you could collaborate with anyone (alive or dead) who would it be?

B: Easy one. Kris Kristofferson

D: I think Neil Tennant from Pet Shop Boys or Martin Gore from Depeche Mode.

M: Oh my, I think Celine Dion, and perhaps she could teach me some of her vocal techniques to make everything sound so perfect.

Who is your main inspiration?

M: Now it could be anyone or any good song I hear, but in my youth it was mainly Deep Purple without a doubt, I know all their song by heart

B: Haha, that would also be Kris Kristofferson!

D: This might sound a bit soppy, but I'd say my dad. He was a singer, songwriter and bass player and really shaped my musical tastes from an early age.

If you could cover any song, what would it be?

D: Without doubt, "Enjoy The Silence" by Depeche Mode

M: Tough one, but I think something with Boz Scaggs, because I loved his album Other Roads and I think I can imitate him pretty well

B: Well, assuming I could sing, I think I would love to perform "The Saber and The Rose" by Kris of course.

Tea making: milk first or last?

B: Tea??????

M: Coffee, just black thanks

D: Judging by the number of people who have answered this question, I think I must be the only person in the world who puts milk in first. I always knew I was different...

Would you have the nerve to get on stage on a packed Wembley Stadium and sing/play something?

M: Haha, no!

BK, you write most of the lyrics for the band. How many girls have you written poems for?

B: At least a dozen. The bad thing about that is when you write the same poem for two girls who know each other...

What is on the horizon for Skuve?

D: We're taking a bit of a break at the moment. So much has happened over the past two years - we've recorded and released four albums and we all feel a bit tired. You'd think that the lockdown would be a fertile time for a virtual band like ours, but it seems to have had the opposite effect on us all. Rest assured though, we will be back very soon
