new music: kelaska "old ghosts"

Kelaska (born Kelli Wright) is a singer/songwriter based in Connecticut, and her new track "Old Ghosts" has just dropped. Without a doubt, this is one song you'll want to hear!

Kelaska began her music career by creating a YouTube channel and uploading cover versions for her subscribers. Before long, she surpassed 30,000 followers and her cover version of Breezeblocks was highlighted in a People Magazine article "10 Cover Song Pros You Should Be Following On Instagram" - generating over 730,000 streams on Spotify.

And so, to the song. Old Ghosts is quite simply a work of art. At it's heart, a driving, thumping beat sets the tone and within seconds, it's obvious that something special is going on. Expect to hear layer upon layer of synthesizer loops, a bass track that is simple and understated but that relentlessly pounds into your ears and some delicious guitar licks. The song itself tells of those times when you look back at a failed relationship, how you might question what went wrong and how those nagging doubts seem to hang around and haunt you.

The intricate nature of this earworm isn't limited to the music. "We spent hours recording backing vocals/whispers for the song and trying to make it just right. There's a lot of really experimental things in the mix, that I'm excited for everyone to hear. I just hope that people like it as much as I do."

That is highly likely. Kelaska's vocal is absolutely on point and she has one of those voices that will stick with you for a very long time!

Regular readers will know that it's rare that we ever rate a track with a maximum 10/10 but Kelaska's Old Ghosts is a very worthy recipient of our highest accolade!
