Song Of The Week

As we fire up the It's Indie engines, we thought it would be a great idea to bring you our Song of the Week!

Dark Side Of Light are California's Nik Frost and Grant Conway. Last year, in a bid to counter the gloom of the pandemic, they concocted their "tripped-out-folk-hop" style - which might sound like a bizarre combination but which, quite simply, works a treat.

The follow-up to their debut single Summer Breeze (yep, a cover version of the Seals & Crofts song) is the deliciously titled Moist.

Unashamedly heavy on the drums, this track intertwines some dark synths with some semi-falsetto and sometimes autotuned vocals with crunchy bass arpeggios to create a sound that is both intriguing and infectious in equal measures

Our rating: 9.6/10
