Who is your main inspiration?
Our inspiration comes from a true love of music and art. To be able to create meaningfully and have it "inspire" others is something very special to us and ultimately what keeps us going.
What is your song-writing process?
The song-writing process begins with Rob and ends with us all in the room working out every final detail. Rob will bring some "skeleton" guitar ideas to the table. Mark and Darren give it a heartbeat and Matthew ultimately gives it a name and a personality when the vocals are completed at the end. The process itself truly is a "body" of work.
What made you want to start in music?
It’s cliche but music helped us find our way in life when we were young. The 90s spoke directly to us and songs from that decade became the soundtrack to our lives. Knowing music was there when other things weren't helped us feel understood. "Understanding" is an important element in life and musicians have a unique talent in helping people develop that sense. To be able to do that as adults playing music is very special.
What is on the horizon for you?
We have a brand new album "lies...and all that jazz" that came out on September 18th. We are really excited about it. We also have some livestream performances scheduled before this year is over.
Who would you most like to collaborate with (alive or dead)?
We would love to collaborate with Trent Reznor and David Bowie. Who wouldn't want to? Ha! They might be the top of the creative mountain in our opinion.
What is your ultimate goal?
Our ultimate goal is to leave people better than how we found them. As musicians, we feel a strong responsibility to put "usable" depth into society through art.
If you could cover any song, what would it be?
We've covered many songs in our career. We actually offer the fan base a free acoustic cover every year around Xmas time called the "Dead Fish Handout". But as far as covering one specific one...Maybe something by Bowie or The Doors could be cool.
Tell us your funniest joke!
We'll have to ask Fozzie for one. He usually gets a good reaction. Wocka! Wocka!
