Where are you based?
In the beautiful Miltown Malbay on the west coast of Ireland
What genre would you describe yourself as?
I’d like to think of myself as a Alt-folk singer songwriter
Who is your main inspiration?
I’d think of it in three categories singing, guitar and songwriting. For singing I’d say, Eddie Veder or Roy Orbison, guitar Ani Di Franco, I love the way she plays, it’s so percussive! Now songwriting is a bit harder to decide but if I have to pick I’ll go with Bruce Springsteen
What is your songwriting process (which bits come first)?
I like to do it as organically as possible, so I start with no plan at all, I just play the acoustic and let my subconscious start me off, once I have the bones of something I record it on my phone and over the next few days(weeks/months/years )I go back to it adding to it till I’m happy with it.
What made you want to start in music?
I have always adored singing, and when I was in first class (about 6) the teacher gave us sweets if we sang well, I have a real sweet tooth and I love singing so this worked out well for me and I’ve been singing ever since .
What is on the horizon for you?
I’ve just released a single “If We Make It Through The Winter” and I hope to release two mor songs from my current album “if I cross your mind” before Christmas.
Who would you most like to collaborate with (alive or dead?)
I’d love to a work with Neil Finn from Crowded House, he is amazing! Or Faithless, that would be cool too.
What is your ultimate goal?
My ultimate goal is to be as content and successful as I can be, without one endangering the other.
If you could cover any song, what would it be?
Sandy by Bruce Springsteen, it’s incredible but there are just too many words, I’d make a holy show of it.
Tea making: milk first or last?
Easy: milk last, but I am dairy intolerant so it’s not an issue.
Tell us your funniest joke!
This is one my father told me... why did Bono fall off the stage? Because he stood to close to The Edge!
