another old friend returns!

When we first heard Victoria Alex, she was dropping some hot R'n'B vibes (that's me getting down with the kids!). A couple of years later, she's back with a new look, new rock sound, a brand new attitude and a mind-blowingly good new single, Screaming.

Victoria has a timeline that many would envy. Some may remember her

as Victoria Azevedo, who first appeared on stage at the tender age of seven, later going on to win “Honey Jam” at the Mod Club in Toronto, aged just 11, then joining “Mini Pop Kids 12” and, a year later, “Mini Pop Kids 13," and former contestant on the first season of CTV’s The Launch, when her mentor was Boy George. She also took the pages of It's Indie by storm, riding high in our charts and becoming the most visited page on our website in 2019.

Victoria has been quietly re-inventing herself and her newest single, Screaming, is a long, long way from that earlier sound. People will draw parallels with the likes of Avril Lavigne but you'll hear glimpses of Victoria's impressive vocal range in this huge rock track. If I had any criticism of the song, it's that it ends much too soon - it feels to me as though there's at least another verse and chorus that could be squeezed in but, in the spirit of the song itself, Victoria is in total control and you get what you're given!

Still at the tender age of 19, her voice goes from strength to strength, and her attitude is unapologetic; in a respectful way, as she writes about the highs and lows of being a strong female in today’s society. She is unafraid to speak the truth for her generation in a way, that everyone can hear.

“I am so excited for everyone to hear this single! It reminds me of the Canadian music I grew up listening to, with a bit more edge. I think my fans will love it too, as we have all grown and matured, since I began this journey. I think my music will still speak to them,” Victoria adds.

If this is your first time hearing Victoria Alex, you are in for a real treat! And if you're already a fan, you're in for an even bigger treat!
