Deserved illumination for Tail Lights

Born and raised in Sheffield, UK, Silas Burke is an English singer-songwriter with a twist. Through time spent in Canada and the US, Silas developed a real taste for the indie and folk music which North America is known for. Influenced by artists such as Bon Iver, The Fray, Wakey!Wakey!, Donovan Woods, Charlie Simpson, and Gavin DeGraw, Silas began to stamp his mark on the Vancouver music scene through the underground of the East Side of Downtown. Now based in Birmingham, Silas aims to deliver the authentic sound and voice of a wanderer.

Silas was a founding member and lead vocalist of Sheffield indie outfit UnderLight from 2014 to 2017, during which time they played sold out shows at the Leadmill and Plug respectively, released an EP and developed a local fanbase until their hiatus in 2017.

Tail Lights, to be released September 6th , is the first single off the debut EP which will be released at the beginning of January but that is yet to be announced. Taillights tells a story of distance and complexity in a relationship with the emphasis on the way in which distance can alter our perception on life.

As one of the bigger sounds on the EP, the track contains full instrumentation based around the piano of Silas. Taillights is the real introduction to Silas as an artist and as an individual. Influence: The song is influenced greatly by the early work of artists such as The Fray, Gavin DeGraw, Wakey!Wakey! and elements of Bon Iver.

The Track was mixed by Elliot Vaughan, the track was mastered by Matthew Cotterill, and was recorded at Flipside Studios in Coventry.

Silas hopes to build his schedule, playing more shows and building a stronger national profile through low level tours and one-off shows. Through radio play, strong reviews, and a growing presence in the UK and Abroad, he hopes to establish a solid fanbase. Follow Silas on Facebook!
