new music: adora odili "picking up flowers inside"

A fusion of jazz and soul, the new song from Berlin-based Adora Odili has all the ingredients you might need for a chilled out Friday evening.

Adora Odili is no stranger to this music business. She first crashed onto the scene in the 1990s with her hit song I Don't Know What To Do, a collaboration with Chestnut of Are Snoek, and more recently releasing her EP Love And That Other Shit, and album The Simple Life, leading to her new single Picking Up Flowers Inside.

It's said that Adora's voice is reminiscent of Sade or Erykah Badu, and those would be pretty accurate descriptions. Hers is a husky, sultry tone, perfectly suited to the jazz/soul sound that dominates this track.

It's a song that isn't in a hurry to impress you, instead gradually building in elements that fuse with the overriding theme of love to create a beautiful, bright Summer's evening of a song.
