new music: xylo aria "hover"

One that we've been sitting on for a while is the excellent RnB/Pop song Hover from inspiring singer/songwriter and producer Xylo Aria.

The song describes taking on the role of an emotional crutch, absorbing another persons problems before becoming empowered enough to find a way to overcome and break free of the situation.

Xylo's captivating vocals intertwine with a delightful saxophone sample that cast an enchanting air over the whole song that bring the story together perfectly.

Xylo is a shining light in self-empowerment, having created the music production learning platform MPW which supports women the are of music production. In a little over 2 years, MPW has grown to become 10,000-strong community of female and allied musicians. “I love leading this community, and find it truly and deeply fulfilling but at times I find I forget the satisfaction of sharing my own creations. So I’m really excited to be putting something out into the world after a while and am looking forward to what’s to come in the next few months”, Xylo shares.

I have to admit, I've never been a big fan of RnB but this song certainly makes me reconsider my position. It's thoughtful lyrics, together with Xylo's mesmerising vocals and the excellent production make Hover a force to be reckoned with.

Xylo's new EP "Thunder and Rain" is due to be released in November, and Hover is the first track to be released from it. Watch out also for the follow-up single Think About Yesterday which should be landing in October.
