Henderson is a hard-hitting indie-pop four-piece from the Steel City, Sheffield. Creative songwriting and anthemic riffs capture the hearts of many far and wide.
Henderson have been a band for no more than two and a half years but have already achieved so much. With sold out shows under their belts and supporting some top names in the music industry, such as Joe Carnall (Milburn, Reverend and the Makers) plus Manchester's own Twisted Wheel at Sheffield's iconic Leadmill.
Working in the studio with another Sheffield legend Dave Sanderson, they will soon be releasing a debut EP Skin on Skin and their brand new single 'Brightness Collides', which was released on 4th November.
The band consist of Josh Rhodes (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Joe Wright (lead guitar and vocals), Matt Bond (bass guitar) and Kieran Bond (drums). The lads say that they have known each other since their early school days and have been friends ever since - although we suspect brothers Matt and Kieran may have known each a little longer.
"Brightness Collides" is, from the outset, an energetic romp, firmly placed in the indie pop arena. Its somewhat misleading intro demonstrates some relaxed drum and guitar work, the bass bringing it together nicely as it wanders through the first few bars, enticing you into the rest of the song which quickly establishes itself with some cute riffs until the vocals finally join the party.
Josh has the perfect voice for this genre. Being from Sheffield, there's a very slight twang and inevitable gentle nod in the direction of Alex Turner from Arctic Monkeys but more tuneful, and much less arrogant!
Altogether, "Brightness Collides" is the perfect tune to lighten these dark nights.
