Introducing The Pretty Visitors and their latest single "High Sailing Blues"
The Pretty Visitors, or "TPV" as they are henceforth referred to due my inherent laziness, are Connor, Sam, Jack and Aaron they're from Portsmouth and they're bringing their relentless rock sound to the airwaves.
Previously supporting artists such as Circa Waves, Jaws, Billy Lunn (The Subways), The Family Rain and more recently, Sisteray, TPV showcase an energetic, eclectic live sound, branded as "raucous, old school Indie Rock at its most potent".
In 2019 they released their debut single 'Its Not Easy,' together with it's hilarious video and the follow-up "Other Side" followed soon after.
"High Sailing Blues" follows on their theme of releasing demo versions of singles and it dropped on 4th October. A first listen and I was reminded of something between the Beatles "Come Together," The Who and a touch of Hendrix - high praise, I agree, but it really is that good a blues song. The raw distortion and thumping rhythm will transport you back to the 60s, when you could hear real music being blasted out of smoky, seedy clubs.
Their songs have featured multiple times on BBC Introducing shows. “The Pretty Visitors showcase their swaggering raw sound with subtle flickers of finesse glimmering through the thrilling mayhem,” and they have headlined both The Wedgewood Rooms (Portsmouth) and The Joiners (Southampton) in 2019 so far.
Some bands are too good to miss. The Pretty Visitors are one of those.
