Where are you based?
What genre would you describe yourself as?
Progressive Melodic Metalcore
Who is your main inspiration?
The base of our sound lies in bands such as Killswitch Engage and As I Lay Dying. Through the years we've added many more influences to our sound. It's quite a bit more progressive now.
What is your songwriting process (which bits come first?)
“Color of Our Fears” was pretty much all written by me (Olivier), especially the music side of it. The lyrics were a bit more spread out. I was working on songs until they were as perfect as they can be. For the new material however, it's quite a bit more of a team effort. The other members help out with structure, additional guitars and even tracks of their own.
What made you want to start in music?
My dad played drums and I just fell in love with it immediately. I've had drumsticks in my hands since I was 2 years old and I still annoy people with my air-drumming haha. I started seriously playing guitar when I was about 15 because I wanted to write songs. I love playing guitar, but there's something special when I play the drums.
What is on the horizon for you?
Still writing new material for a release sometime in 2021 or 2022. The new songs are sick, and they're only better and better as we go.
Who would you most like to collaborate with (alive or dead)?
It's a stupid idea probably. But if I could replace Neil Peart and play shows with Rush that would be amazing. Of course that would never happen, but it's fun to think about.
What is your ultimate goal?
Quite simple really. We want to be able to live from this. It's a lot of work, but it's what I'd rather do than anything else.
If you could cover any song, what would it be?
We covered “One More Light” by Linkin Park on “Color of Our Fears” and that was pretty much the dream right there. It's probably going to be the only cover we ever do.
Tea making: milk first or last?
Ew tea is gross. Flavored warm water, no thank you haha.
Tell us your funniest joke!
If you go on our Facebook page and search for a video called “VibroMetal”, you'll understand what kind of shenanigans you can expect from us. I'm of course biased but I think it's hilarious haha.
