Meet Fireglow. They're a five piece rock 'n' roll band from Sydney, Australia.
They met in 2018 but their sound is very much in the 60s and 70s era. Here are a group who wear their hearts on their sleeves. Their music is honest and inviting and you are going to find yourself drifting back in time, whilst still hearing a contemporary, relevant sound.
“Great songs. Great attitude and musicianship.” – Charles Forssi
The band are Chris Macris (vocals, lead guitar), Sean Griffiths (vocals, rhythm guitar), Bruno Lobao (bass), Frankie Ferrugia (drums) and Catherine Griffiths (keyboards). Their first single, Back Of Her Blue Eyes, is filled with proper instruments, played properly. It wouldn't be out of place on an album by The Searchers or Smokie, with great harmonies and a cheeky little guitar solo.
“Great songs, charming positive attitude and uplifting music take you on a special journey. It’s easy to get lost in the sound.” – John Holland
Their second single, "Baby Blue Eyes" keeps up this theme. It's great to hear an electric piano leading the way with some funky arpeggios and a Hammond organ popping up to say hello. Vocal harmonies that sound more sixties than the 60's. And those guitars!
“Great pop band with 60s sensibilities, structure, hooks, choruses, everything a band should be” – Les Hamilton
Fireglow have played some of the best venues in Sydney, including the iconic Lazy Bones at Marrickville, receiving rave reviews wherever they play. Check out Fireglow – the only thing that’s slightly offensive about them is their rather questionable dress sense!
